Jul 16, 2008 - 9:35 PM - by TechGuy | Mike, Dan, and Brian discuss the so-called Google Phone, compare it to the iPhone, and explain Twitter. Download the MP3 or Subscribe to the RSS
Welcome to the very first episode of the Tech Support Guy Show, an audio podcast that will be released at least once a month. Soon, you'll be able to subscribe to it through iTunes so that it will automatically download to your iPod. If you're so inclined, check out http://feeds.techguy.org/TechSupportGuyShow for other ways to subscribe.
This was our very first try at an episode, so there are a lot of things to fine-tune, not the least of which is the audio quality. Keep in mind that all three of us are located geographically apart (Dan and Mike are in different parts of Pennsylvania while Brian is in San Francisco!) so that adds another challenge to the mix.
Thanks very much to Dan for his great intro music and for mixing the end product! Your hosts are:

3 Replies | 91 Views | Microsoft update kills ZoneAlarm | |

PUNTERS who use the ZoneAlarm security package might not want to install MS update KB951748. According to several news groups, the first thing you will notice after running the update is that your internet connection dies as KB951748 made changes to the networking files that Zonealarm doesn't like. It then decides to block everything just to be safe.
You can get around the problem by setting the Internet Zone Security permission slider from high to medium and that will give you your connection back but that is not really a good idea if you want high security. Sniffing around the forums we found similar advice although, apparently, the best bet is to reset the ZoneAlarm database.

NOTE: I updated not so long ago, and can confirm this. Luckily, it was my test macine running XP. Oh, and this is for Windows XP SP2 and SP3 ONLY. |

They say you can plug this in your computer then plug your phone in it and get free phone service. The downside would be only having one phone and no phone if a power outage or if your computer is down. Of course then I suppose one could use their cell phone. After initial purchase it would save us about $50 a month in phone bills.
It almost sounds too good to be true....what you guys think?
